Fastest Roller Coaster in the World

At Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, NJ, the tallest and fastest coaster in the world looms high over the rest of the park.

Towering at an incredible height of 456 feet (45 stories!), Kingda Ka is a strata-coaster (exceeds a height of 400 feet) and accelerates from 0-128 miles per hour in less than four seconds.

A hydraulic launch shoots the train straight-up the 456-foot tower, pauses at the top and goes straight downward into a 270-degree spiral.

Kingda Ka debuted on May 21st, 2005, becoming the fastest and tallest roller coaster in the world, surpassing the record set by Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, which is 420 feet tall and goes 0-120 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds.

The ride shoots you 90 degrees into a quarter-turn, and then the train shoots straight-down vertically into a 270-degree spiral. It then goes down a valley and up a 129-foot camel hump, providing much airtime.

Short but terrifying. The ride is short, hardly 30 seconds long.

Love Inspirational Stories

This is one example of love inspirational stories.
I want to share with you today a story of an absolutely amazing person. This person is only in his early twenties but he has already touched the lives of thousands if not millions of people in ways that, unless you were born with his unique talents, you will never be able to do no matter how hard you try. He is a preacher who has never held a bible. A real estate investor who has never once walked into a property he has bought. A writer who has never put pen to paper and a motivational speaker who has never stood before a crowd. Yet this person I'm about to introduce you to is a success in each and every one of those fields of endeavor.

His name is Nick Vujicic and he will never hold a bible, walk or stand or write with a pen because he was born with no arms or legs. Yet despite that fact, Nick refers to himself as a "miracle of God" and starts his talks by stating that "by the end of this service, you are going to be jealous of my life". Nicks mantra is "from life without limbs to life without limits". When I first saw this guy sitting on a table telling a group of teenagers that if you fall down, all you got to do is get up, I was amazed and taken aback by what I was witnessing. He would say, "How many times am I going to get up if I fall down? The answer is, every time".

And with that, Nick would purposely fall forward flat on this face and then, without arms or legs, get back up into the up right position. In addition to all the other amazing things he can do, things that you and I do routinely every day of our lives, Nick is also an avid swimmer. He has it set in his mind that there is nothing he can't do and everyday he lives his life that way. Now, Nick absolutely could decide that the disabilities he was born with are just too much for one person to overcome and he could just sit back and fade away into obscurity.

In fact, there would be nobody who would think any less of him for doing so, but early on, Nick made up his mind that what most would call a disability is really an unfair advantage. If you asked him, he would say that he would not want it any other way. Ok, how does that translate into you experiencing success in your own life? Well I'm glad you asked. If a guy with no arms or legs can learn to swim, I'll bet you can learn to overcome whatever it is that is holding you back in your quest to fulfill all of your dreams and desires.

In the end, I want you to know, that it is God's love that make this story became inspirational to all people who read this story.

Cool and Unique Musical Instruments by Yamaha

Tenori-on is an electronic musical instrument, designed and created by Japanese artist, Toshio Iwai and Yu Nishibori of the Music and Human Interface Group, Yamaha Center for Advanced Sound Technology. It consists of a screen, held in the hands, of a sixteen by sixteen grid of LED switches, any of which can be activated in a number of ways to create an evolving musical soundscape. The LED switches are held within a magnesium frame, which has two built-in speakers located on the top of frame, as well as a dial and buttons that control the type of sound and beats per minute produced. There is also an LCD screen on the bottom edge of the frame. Using the connection function, it is possible to play a synchronized session, or to send and receive songs between two of the devices.

Tenori-on was demonstrated at SIGGRAPH 2005 held in Los Angeles, CA in August, 2005. A detailed discussion of the design of the Tenori-on is given in a paper presented at NIME 2006 conference held at IRCAM, Centre Pompidou in Paris, France in June, 2006.

Toshio Iwai has been using the Tenori-on in live performances (such as at Sónar in Barcelona, in June 2006, and Futuresonic in Manchester, in July 2006, the Futuresonic 2006 live show had some good feedback from the audience and that was one of the most important triggers to make it a real product). The instrument was launched in London on September 4, 2007 for a recommended retail price of $1,200 (£599). To promote this launch, three prominent electronic and experimental musicians -- Jim O'Rourke, Atom Heart, and Robert Lippok -- were invited to compose "demo" tracks utilizing the device. These tracks have since been released as promotional MP3s from the Tenori-on website.

Iwai's intention in creating the Tenori-on is to create an electronic instrument of beauty. In his own words:

"In days gone by, a musical instrument had to have a beauty, of shape as well as of sound, and had to fit the player almost organically. Modern electronic instruments don't have this inevitable relationship between the shape, the sound, and the player. What I have done is to try to bring back these elements and build them in to a true musical instrument for the digital age."

The instrument builds on Iwai's previous work, such as his Electroplankton software for the Nintendo DS in the blending of light and sound, as well as the aesthetic elements of the interface.

A World Tour introducing Tenori-on began in Frankfurt, Germany, on March 12, and finished in Tokyo on 25 April 2008. Artists on the tour included Jim O'Rourke, Atom Heart, To Rococo Rot, Pole, Robert Lippok, Sutekh, I Am Robot and Proud and Nathan Michel.
